Buchek dan Jaha, dua teman sekampung dengan kehidupan berbeda. Buchek, seorang graduan manakala Jaha, lepasan Sekolah Henry Gurney. Zaman kanak-kanak dan ketenangan di bumi Kelantan ditinggalkan hanya untuk dipertemukan kembali di Kuala Lumpur, kota idaman yang juga kota penuh dugaan.

Pertemuan itu mendedahkan kehidupan hitam Jaha – pedagang dadah, perempuan dan liar, mendorong Buchek untuk membantu sehingga sanggup mengorbankan cintanya apabila menyedari temannya itu jatuh hati pada kekasihnya, Che Nor.

Buchek rela melepaskan Che Nor, namun mampukah cinta mengubah manusia seperti Jaha yang selama ini hidup berkiblatkan Barat itu? Salahkah Che Nor mempertahankan cintanya pada Buchek dengan alasan soal hati bukan sesuatu yang boleh diperdagangkan? Sedang Buchek pula mempertikaikan pendirian Che Nor yang dianggap lebih mementingkan diri daripada perintah Tuhan.

Satu pembunuhan berlaku lalu mencetuskan satu transisi dalam episod cinta dan hidup Jaha, Buchek serta Che Nor.

Marty Bronson (Jonathan Pryce) who raises his son and daughter on his own has to sell his homey motel to clever Barry Nottingham (Richard Griffiths) who promises to make Marty's son manager, when he's grown up and has proven himself. Nottingham pulls down the motel to raise a pricey hotel. Although grown up, Marty's son Skeeter Bronson (Adam Sandler) works as a janitor and general servant, but unlikely as it seems, he still dreams of becoming the manager. When Nottingham announces a brand-new gigantic hotel project, he makes his future son-in-law, base Kendall (Guy Pierce), manager, shattering Skeeter's dream. At the same time Skeeter's sister Wendy (Courtney Cox) has to leave town for a job interview and asks him to alternate looking after her two children Patrick (Jonathan Morgan Heit) and Bobbi (Laura Ann Kesling) with Wendy's responsible-minded colleague Jill (Keri Russell). He doesn't get along with either Jill or the children, but his easy-goingness loosens them all up and once he starts telling his bedtime stories, the children grow fond of him and begin to bring in their ideas about how the stories should go. When the stories turn out to become true in real life, Skeeter tries to manoeuver the stories into a direction which will make his dream come true, too.

In accordance with a Korean legend, every five hundred years, a woman protected by a man transforms in a serpent to fight against a dragon in a battle between good and evil. In Los Angeles of the present days, after a mysterious accident, the reporter Ethan Kendrick recalls his meeting fifteen years ago with Jack, who owned an antique shop and told him that he was the one supposed to protect Sarah Daniels. Ethan seeks out Sarah and together they fight to survive and destroy the devilish dragon.
